A New Friend

During our outreach event at Davenport Park with New Beginnings Church, we met a woman who had recently been released from the hospital after two long months—without a single comb or wash through her hair.

Her scalp was tender, her hair severely matted, and she was in real discomfort. But thanks to the compassionate work of Sarah, one of our amazing volunteers, we were able to gently detangle and trim without resorting to shaving it all off.

The transformation brought immediate relief, and she left feeling beautiful and hopeful again. She told us she’d never let it get that way again—and promised to come back before it ever did.
