Cuts 4 Christ participates in the annual Day of Joy outreach event held on the Bangor Waterfront in Bangor, Maine, partnering with local organizations to serve the community through free haircuts, hygiene support, and compassionate care.
Day of Joy holds special significance for Cuts 4 Christ, as it is the event where the ministry first began. What started as a simple opportunity to serve at this outreach has grown into an ongoing mission to meet people where they are with care, dignity, and compassion.
On October 31, 2024, a team of professional volunteer hairstylists came together to provide free haircuts and styling services to event participants throughout the day. During this outreach, Cuts 4 Christ was able to serve more than 70 individuals—each one receiving not just a haircut, but a moment of dignity, care, and encouragement.
What makes Day of Joy especially meaningful is the way it brings the community together. Individuals and families are welcomed into an environment where they are treated with respect and kindness, and where something as simple as a haircut can restore confidence and remind someone that they are seen and valued.
This outreach reflects the heart of Cuts 4 Christ—serving with excellence, compassion, and the love of Jesus while meeting real needs in a public, accessible space.
